QNAP NAS data recovery workflow

Deep recovery mode

If the QNAP metadata is severly damaged or you have already tried the light recovery mode and it failed, try the deep recovery mode of QNAP NAS Recovery software.

There are 3 stages in the deep QNAP recovery mode: RAID recovery, QNAP metadata recovery,

HOW TO RECOVER DATA FROM QNAP NAS
DEEP RECOVERY MODE

1. Get the disks out of your QNAP NAS. Once you pulled the disks, connect them to the PC.

2. Download QNAP NAS Recovery, install, and launch it.

3. Identify disks from your QNAP NAS, select them, and click START.
When selecting, pay attention to the disk capacities – all NAS disks are typically of the same size.

4. Choose the deep recovery mode by clicking the Start deep recovery button and then specify the folder to save the state of the software to. Typically the deep scan requires several hours to complete and save states help not to lose time in case of some failure.

5. The 1st stage is RAID recovery: detecting the RAID type, recovering RAID configuration and reassembling the RAID on which QNAP volumes are hosted. Wait till QNAP NAS Recovery recovers the RAID configuration, if you see the non-zero Confidence, you can accept the partial solution and move to the next stage.
